Day 367 - This CrossFit Thing Can't Work

Today we had a visitor to the box who has never done CrossFit.  It wasn't a great day to be a visitor.  The WOD was 35 deadlifts and then run 2 miles.  But I think she scaled it to a 1 mile run.  So her entire WOD was 16 minutes.  


After the WOD she said, "So, we can just go now?" I told her that she should probably let herself recover a little bit before she drives and that she could stretch if she wanted, but yes, when the WOD's over, you can go.   "But that was only 16 minutes - that was it?  How long have you been doing this?"  I could tell she was trying to check me out - to see if I was in shape.  She was trying to figure out what else I do to earn this body.  You could see the doubt on her face.  

I told her that yesterday's WOD was only 7 minutes.  But it was the longest 7 minutes of your life.  "This can't work - only 16 minutes - I'm used to being at the gym for at least an hour."   Just wait until you wake up tomorrow friend.  Then you'll understand.
